We are excited to announce a new chapter in the leadership of Kentucky Equal Justice Center (KEJC) with the appointment of Shay Hutchinson as our new Executive Director. Shay brings with her nearly 15 years of dedicated experience in nonprofit leadership, with a profound commitment to philanthropy and advocacy.
Throughout her career, Shay has demonstrated a deep-seated passion for fostering positive workplace cultures and connecting donors with impactful causes. Her extensive expertise includes program development, relationship building, and managing major gifts, making her an ideal fit to lead KEJC into the future.
Prior to joining KEJC, Shay served as the Regional Advancement Director for the Ohio River Valley Region of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, where she played a pivotal role in revenue advancement, donor cultivation, and expanding market outreach strategies. Her leadership not only drove significant growth but also strengthened community engagement and support for critical causes.

"Having witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of advocacy and philanthropy, I am eager to leverage my experience to further amplify the vital work of KEJC."

Shay holds a diverse educational background, including an undergraduate degree in theater studies, a master's of divinity, and a master's in arts administration. This unique blend of studies reflects her creative interests and her ability to engage with individuals from all walks of life.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Shay enjoys spending time with her husband, Adam, and their energetic toddler, Llewyn. Together, they cherish weekends exploring public parks with their beloved dogs, Lucy and Barney. An avid sports enthusiast, Shay and her family enthusiastically support the Pittsburgh Steelers during football season and cheer for the Kentucky Wildcats in college sports.
